Radiation Safety

Radioactive materials are found in many workplaces and every procedure should be taken to reduce exposure and contamination of workers and other stakeholders, including the public. This course provides participants with a solid overview on how to:

  • Recognize the different types of radiation
  • Understand how radiation interacts with matter
  • Understand the biological and health effects of radiation
  • Learn to protect yourself from exposure to radiation
  • Become familiar with legal obligations with respect to radiation
